It's time for another Ring Of Honor show this Saturday, at the special time of 5 pm, so of course it's time for another of my ROH previews. Enjoy! Or, if you live in one of those places that doesn't have good indy wrestling, feel free to send me envious hate mail!

2/3 Falls Match: American Dragon Bryan Danielson vs. Paul London

If you read this page every day like you should (and how could you not, given how appealing the subject matter is to all audiences?), you already known this was originally supposed to be London vs. Low Ki, but Low Ki will be in Japan. So instead we get this rematch of a great match from the December 7th show. This is actually the third time the two have faced each other in ROH, and they each have one win. The ROH website made mention of London studying the tape of the previous match in preparation for this one, which has me quite excited for the prospects of this one building off of their previous work and producing an even better match.

Top 5 Rankings Match: Homicide vs. Christopher Daniels

Last month I complained that Homicide had not yet been given a chance to have a singles match with a quality opponent on any of the shows I've seen. He wrestled Samoa Joe in Boston, but on the New York and Philly shows I've been to, all he's gotten is Prince Nana and Steve Corino. I keep hearing people talk about how great and well-rounded a wrestler Homicide is, but I just haven't seen it in any of the tag matches and spotfests he's been involved in in ROH. Now, he's got as good an opponent as I could ask for, as Daniels is always good and looked particularly awesome last month, so if Homicide comes anywhere close to living up to the hype, this should be very good.

ROH Tag Team Titles Rematch: The Briscoe Brothers vs AJ Styles & The Amazing Red (Champions)

These guys had a fun spotfest last month, but they did so much in that match that I wonder how they can follow it up without completely going off the spottiness deep end. Red looked pretty much the same after returning from All Japan as he did before he left, which was still pretty fun to watch. I don't know quite what to expect from this, but perhaps the Briscoes will take on a more heelish edge to try and win the belts this time. That's just a guess. This should be decent at the very least.

Non-Title Match: Hotstuff Hernandez vs Samoa Joe (ROH Champion)

These are two large men. They will hit each other hard. I haven't seen Hernandez in a singles environment, so I don't know what to expect of him beyond that. This should be decent. I expect it to be somewhat short.

I Quit Bunkhouse Riot: Dusty Rhodes, Homicide, Iceberg & Homicide's crew vs. CW Anderson, Jack Victory, David Young & some bar room brawlers

This match has the silly stipulation that it's "not booked by ROH." Yep, they're letting the wrestlers book their own matches now. Quite the revolutionary concept, that. I am guessing it'll resemble the kind of "unsanctioned" match the WWE does from time to time, where they say they're not involved in the match, but one of their paid referees officiates it and their paid announcers call it. I expect it will be a mess and the unnamed participants will be of less than stellar quality. It will be fun to see Dusty Rhodes live. It will be less fun when he's too fat to do much but stand in place while people run at him and get elbowed, I suspect. They're putting this match at the end of the show, so if it gets too awful, I suppose I could just leave. It will probably have some comedic value, at least, even if it's unintenionally so.

Tag Team Match: Da Hit Squad vs Backseat Boyz

Stiffness. Head-dropping. No-selling. Over-the-top characters. This should be okay in a spotty kind of way.

CM Punk vs. BJ Whitmer

Whitmer looked all right in the four-way last month, and Punk routinely looks good. They're both from IWA Mid-South, so I assume they've worked together before. This should be good. Hopefully Punk gets to do some more of his tremenouds anti-drug mic work.

Matt Stryker vs. Tom Carter (Reckless Youth) vs. Colt Cabana

The ROH site says:

"The schedule [sic] four-way on 4/12 will now be a three-way pitting Colt Cabana vs. Matt Stryker vs. Tom "Reckless Youth" Carter. However, there is one individual that isn't too happy about this and wants to make this a four-way even though he is already in a scheduled match this Saturday. ROH officials aren't releasing the name of this individual because there are no plans to change the match back into a four-way and include this athlete."

I smell a stupid worked-shoot angle! I don't really know who the fourth guy is, though apparently American Dragon was originally supposed to be in this match before he had to take Low Ki's place. It wouldn't really make sense for his no-nonsense character to be so interested in being in a gimmicky match like this, though.

As for the wrestling in this match, Colt Cabana is fun to watch. I'm very interested to see Carter, because while I haven't seen him in a while, he's always been good and I think he could fit in very well in ROH. Stryker seemed somewhat nondescript last month, but he's certainly competent. I don't really like three-ways, but this could be a fine piece of undercard action.

Plus: Carnage Crew, Mikey Whipwreck & Special K, Alexis Laree, Dunn & Marcos and more in matches to be announced!

Dunn & Marcos, hurrah! Other than that, I don't have much use for these people. I hope Dunn & Marcos get to be taken seriously again this month.

About half an hour after this show is over, in theory, CZW's Best of the Best show will be starting up a few blocks away. I don't know if I want to go to that, but the tournament looks fairly good this year. There's the usual CZW people who I'm either not familiar with or don't like, but there's a few good outsiders like AJ Styles, and B-Boy, who I really like but haven't seen in a while. I guess B-Boy's a CZW regular now, actually. It would be a really long day if I decided to go to that, as it'll probably end at like 2 am. I'll decide some time this week.
