Rumors of Omar's stupidity have been greatly exaggerated
If you believe Mets.com and a couple of anonymous "members of the club hierarchy", Aaron Heilman and Lastings Milledge will still be in the Mets organization when the 2006 season begins. That is excellent news, though it would have been nice to see Jae Seo's name in the article as well. A team that's part expensive superstars and part cheap homegrown studs will be a lot of fun to watch come October.
In other Mets news that isn't really news, Jeff Wilpon's name came up on today's episode of ESPN's Pardon The Interruption. If you missed it, you missed a fun little segment. Sure, Kornheiser and Wilbon were hurling insults at Jeff for reasons entirely unrelated to his team-building philosophies, but it was still nice to see him get slapped around a bit on national TV. Was that
exciting enough for ya, Jeff?
